Down the Road Butchery specializes in humane on-farm slaughter for beef and hogs, allowing your animals to remain in the familiar surroundings of your farm while reducing the stress of transportation. From on-farm harvest through custom processing, we're committed to honoring your animals with care, professionalism, and respect.
Our On-Site Slaughter Process
Step 1: Contact Us
Tell us about your farm, the type and number of animals you'd like processed, where you're located, and your preferred timeframe. We'll answer any questions, discuss availability, and help determine the best time to schedule your harvest.

Please Note:
On-site slaughter appointments are very limited during deer season (October through January), so we encourage booking as early as possible.

Step 2: Schedule Your Harvest
Once your date is confirmed, we'll coordinate the details of our visit and explain how to prepare for harvest day. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and low-stress as possible for both you and your animals.

Step 3: Humane, On-Farm Animal Harvest
We travel to your farm to perform a respectful, humane harvest in the familiar surroundings of your property, helping reduce the stress associated with transportation.

Step 4: Custom Processing
Your animal is transported to our facility, where it is custom processed to your specifications. Choose the cuts, ground products, and sausage options that best fit your family's needs.

Please Note:
Custom exempt processing is intended for the owner of the animal only. The finished meat is for personal consumption and cannot be resold.

Step 5: Pickup
Once your order is complete, we'll contact you to arrange pickup. Your custom-cut, freezer-ready order will be professionally packaged, labeled, and ready to take home.
