USDA Co-Packing
Turn your livestock into retail-ready products with expert processing and packaging.
Down the Road Butchery partners with farms, retailers, and food businesses looking to bring locally sourced meat products to market. As a USDA-inspected cut and package facility, we receive USDA-slaughtered beef, pork, and lamb and transform them into custom cuts, packaged products, and specialty items designed for your customers.
Whether you need retail cuts, ground products, or custom sausage, we provide the experience and equipment to help you create a professional product your customers will love.
Our Co-Pack Process
1. Plan Your Product
We start by understanding your business, your customers, and what products are selling in your market. Together, we determine the cuts, packaging sizes, and product options that make the most sense for your brand.
Need help deciding what to offer? Greg can provide recommendations based on years of experience processing beef, pork, and wild game.
2. Provide Your Product & Labels
You provide the USDA-slaughtered beef, pork, or lamb along with your branding and label design. Send your label file in JPEG format, and we’ll program it into our scale system for packaging.
3. Processing & Packaging
We handle the heavy lifting, cutting, grinding, sausage making, vacuum-sealing, labeling and packaging your products according to your specifications in our USDA-inspected facility.
4. Quality Check & Pickup
Once your order is complete, you’ll review your finished products and provide feedback. We can fine-tune future orders based on what’s working best for your customers and your market.
Finished orders are ready for pickup at Down the Road Butchery.
